Trial & Errors.

Trial & Errors.

There is never a dull moment when trying to get things done as a local business. When you are solely responsible for wearing all the hats, I can tell you that it can get very overwhelming real fast. Especially when something goes sideways and you can't fix it yourself.

Like this very moment for instance. Busy baking samples to show everyone all the new designs I want to launch for Valentine's Day! My favourite part of the job! Comes to a full stop. The website product pages aren't working. UGH.

That means that you cant purchase class spaces and decorating kits right now. EEK! To make the situation even more fun, tech support isn't available for the next 4 to 24 hours. *sigh*

I'm fairly tech savvy, or so I like to think, and over the last 2 hours I cant figure this one out so as far as I can figure there's something glitchy going on on their end.... I hope. My luck.... its something small I'm overlooking and will feel stupid for not having seen the solution staring me in the face. Classic me.

Like I said, never a dull moment. In the meantime, today has been a lot of prep work, my packaging for Valentines Day has started to arrive so I can start putting together box sets and lots of other fun items for the Valentine's Day event at the Roll a Dome in PG on the 11th &12th of February. I cant' wait!

Next up, for my fellow cookiers, I will be releasing a self published book for making quotes, something that has been in the works and on the back burner for a little while. I'm hoping to have that released in the next few weeks. A few publishing details to work out but its all ready to go to print!

I'm finally getting through my quotes and emails from over the holidays. Anyone else feel the looming weight of unanswered emails like that? My brain never seems to shut off as I lay awake in the middle of the night thinking about all the things I didn't get done, did I print that order form? Did I reply to that email? I really should order those bags. I wonder how many labels I have left?

January is never really a busy sales month unfortunately, but busy in SO many other ways in preparation for the weeks ahead. This is typically the time that major events are looking to secure spaces for the coming year, markets looking to schedule their seasoned vendors for the Spring and Summer along with trying to schedule all of the in-between stuff that goes along with it. It may seem daunting to some, but I thrive on the organizing part of it all!

I love getting my calendar ready, my baking schedule, getting things ordered and organized. My goal for this year is to be more organized than last year. I have a lot of plans for the business this year. I'm hoping that the changes in my schedule and tightening up my time management I can best serve my business and my customers as that's what's really important to me.

Well if you and I have have up to 24 hours of wait time before the website issue can be resolved, I better get back to making these samples so I can show them to you this week!
